Benefits of Gardening

As a living and breathing human, I have always wondered how other living and breathing beings thrive. We get so tied up in the ropes of the society around us that the fundemental idea of living gets tied up with all these ropes. One rope for the work grind. One rope for the new roofing shingles you were swindled in to from a social media add. One rope for perfecting your closet. One rope for managing your crypto wallet. But very few people alow space for a rope leading to the giant world of nature. A world much bigger and more deeply rooted than our other ropes. That rope starts in your hands, and ends in your backard. Lets explore the

Bennefits of Gardening

Connecting to Nature

I have been forutnate enough to have been allowed to appreciate nature from a young age. My parents passed their appreciation for nature down to me in their own ways. My lovely mother is where I get my green thumb from, now an avid hosue plant collector and horticuluturalist, she seemed to weild a special connection with these multicolored floral beings. I have seen her heal dying orchids for years. Taking in a plant that has one last green leaf and nurturing it with her various methods of love and care until it starts to thrive again. There is no secret to her healing. It is a very simple formula of one part proper technique and ninety-nine parts strong connection to nature. My father on the the other hand has allowed me to appreciate the body as a holistic physician. Giving me a perspective on illness and disease from a root perspective. Holistic medicine involves tracing a symptom back to a root and treating the root not the symptom. Without a specific incident, I understand a headache most likely can be treated and avoided by drinking a lot of water. By staying hydrated throughout the day, I have eliminated the need for a pill to get rid of the headache, I just wont get one in the first place. If that doesnt seem to help, the seach for a deeper root continues.

Our home was always filled with houseplants and our backyard (when we had one) was always cultivated to grow herbs and vegies in the most random of places to utalize the space. It got in the way of soccer, but I naturally appreciated the taste of a fresh cucumber in the summer only because I was careful with the soccerball.

One needs to appreciate nature to fully connect with it. Discovering the path to appreciation is actually quite fun! It can start with going outside in a light snow, holding your hands out and catching a few snowflakes on your fingers. Zoom in with your eyes and notice the patern. The feeling you get noticing the paterns, how the differ, how they are smymetrical, how easily they are missed, is a feeling of appreciation. It is a feeling of discovery. It is a feeling of connection with nature.

My parents have both felt the bennifits of connecting with nature, but they path they take is different. One way takes years of schooling, the other takes a mere appretiation for plants. I happen to resonate with the second path, honestly I am terrified of 10 years of more school.

My appreciation has grown over the past few years as I have been working diligently in the gardens preparing them for weddings, garden tours, the perfect sunset by the firepit and much more. My drive to garden may be my clients, but my appreciation for it is uncorrelated and unparraleled. This has bennefited me greatly mentally and physically. strenghtening my connection to nature and fortifying the Bennifits of Gardening.
